The “Original” Split Pea Soup is Fat Free, 100% Vegetarian and a good source of protein and iron. Andersen’s canned soups are the next best thing to being here and having it fresh.

I grew up eating Anderson Split Pea soup. I do not like peas at all but this creamy split pea soup is to dye for. I now live in clayton, NC and can not get all the great foods I use to buy in CA. Love, love this soup.

I grew up eating Andersen's split pea soup, so I really don't know if split pea soup is a procured taste. I do remember being coerced to eat split pea soup at Andersen's in Buellton when I was about five, being promised that if I finished my soup, I would see a surprise at the bottom of the bowl. I eagerly ate the soup to find Hap-Pea and Pea-Wee at the bottom of the bowl. Somehow after that first experience, I wanted Andersen's Split Pea soup. Over the years I have had others to no comparison. I cannot find it on my grocer's shelf where I live now, but it is worth ordering online. The only thing that makes me a bit disappointed it that the original label has been changed to something children or people like me can relate to. I do not like the label now and I would gift the soup to more people with the old label which was so classic. It was somewhat like changing the label on a Coca-Cola can.

I am originally from SoCal. I've been to the original restaurant in Buellton a few times. I can honestly say that no other pea soup comes close. I tried, believe me. Since I moved across the country I tried other brands as Andersens is not available. FAIL. They are not even close. As the title says, nothing else will do. I have to get Andersens shipped to me from the web site. (and the cost is high due to the weight) but it is worth every penny!!

Not as good as the real thing or when made from the recipe bag. But for a quick fix, it'll work just fine.
Creamy is right, I like it a little thicker. Just needed a dash of Tabasco.

First tasted on a trip from Bay Area to LA in 1956 with 10 month old baby. We have had warm memories of lunch in Andersen's restaurant. Despite moving to many sections of the country we have often been able to find Andersen's Pea Soup and Pea Soup with Bacon Flavoring. Now we can get it over the internet! It is a unique product - the very best!

A friend of mine told me about this. He first ate it when he was in the Navy and stationed in California many years ago. Based on what he said, I knew I had to try it. It's as good as he said it was. I also ordered a can for him so he could relive old memories. Is there any store in the Lansing, MI, area that sells this?

Best pea soup anywhere. Tasted even better than it did 30 years ago.

Like your cookies, the soup was snarfed up right off of the counter AND I was given only a cup, oooh yum!

Purchased 6 cans for my brother-in-law and he raves about it! He said it tastes even better than he can remember....nothing else compares. We live in the Atlanta area and he's out in CA in a memory facility, so we were very impressed with the service he received. I love the thank you note from MC for the purchase and the very interesting fact sheet on the history of the restaurants and soup's creation. That's an incredible amount of peas to go through in a year!!!
